cartagloria - Bois, argenté - Début du XIXe siècle

Large altar card made of solid carved wood, real silver leafed, with strong oxidation. Bas-relief carvings on profiles, rosary beads decoration inside, feral feet, bas-relief inside the top frieze. Always belonged to a noble family from the Upper Town of Bergamo, contained a parchment with the family tree of the house, which could not be purchased. Although used as a kind of panoply, the structure of the artifact refers to an antecedent, sacred use. In the top frieze, the religious symbol was replaced with a bas-relief depicting Minerva; according to the owners, it was replaced in 19th century. The artefact was made between the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century. In very good condition, regular and widespread craquelure, some wear and tear on surface, solid structure, old restoration on the right feral foot. Our laboratory simply cleaned it, waxed it and reinforced with a wooden lath at the bottom of the complex structure. Without losses. An anti-woodworm treatment has been performed. Internal opening is 36 x 46 cm. Shipping with professional packaging.
