Again this bedspread came from the same owner.
This bedspread also has not seen the day light since the early 1900s.
It was crocheted by her great grandmother for her daughter's "trousseau"
( thus the owner's grandmother, whom she knew) and more or less disappeared from view and put in the armoire until recently. ( they both have been dry cleaned)
It is thé most unusual design and I have never seen this particular pattern before..
First impression is like "a sea breeze on the waters with small swirls" creating this extraordinary design.
The borders are separately crochet and has scalloped festooned finishes.
A really handsome piece!!
