Dirk Jansen was a painter with adventurous bohemian character. After visiting the art academy in The Hague, he made many wanderings and made pieces all over the world: South Africa (where he fought with a French ‘vrijkorps’ in the Boer War), Paris, America, the Dutch East Indies, and finally Morocco where he eventually lived for the last part of his life.
The painting is believed to be from his Winterswijk period.
The painting and frame are in perfect condition. Ready to be put on display.
The painting will be sent carefully packed by registered and insured mail.
