Plate/Tray in sterling silver, made by Shreve, Crump & Low Co., Boston, one of the oldest silversmiths in the United States: it started in 1796, and is still active. Throughout their activity, they worked on remarkable commissions; they made, for example, several major trophies, including the Davis Cup.
This plate in sterling silver plate has been hand-chiselled and embellished with a wreath in the centre and a different decoration on edge.
Hallmarks on bottom: "Shreve Crump & Low Co.", "Sterling" and an eagle, emblem of the company.
