Several authentic branded wooden skates, also called “Friese doorlopers” The skates are marked with a brand of the makers/manufacturer (see photos): J. Nooitgedagt from IJlst is one of the oldest and most well known ice-skate factories of the Netherlands. Jan Nooitgedagt started with the production of complete ice skates in 1865. 2. NIJDAN AKKRUM Hotse Nijdam was a carpenter at the end of the 19th century at IJlst. Nijdam made his first skates in 1896. 3. G.S. Ruiter Bolsward In 1901, Geert Ruiter founded the skating factory G.S. Ruiter Bolsward. See the skates in the photo whose iron ends with a sharp point. Until the second half of the 19th century, the iron ended in a rather sharp point. The sharp points could easily cause injury and were banned at some stage. These skates will be shipped well packaged but could of course also simply be collected from us in Barneveld.
