Rare Naval Officer's Sword of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) after 1937.
Grip: Good wrapping with signs of wear and tear Ribbon at the top end of the handle. Mekugi and Menuki in very nice condition.
Blade: Very nice curing/oil temperature line (Hamon).
Signature Swordsmith: Kanesada.
Tiny/point-sized slingshot - only recognisable with very close-up viewing. Light scratches.
Sword Sheath (Saya): Black lacquer on wood. Perfectly accurate recording of the sword blade - causal togetherness. Sword-hanging-eyes (obi-tore) in beautiful condition as well as firm hold.
Small dents but no fault lines in the paint.
Blade length: 61.3 cm; Tang length: 21.6 cm; total length 82.9 cm. Width base: 3.2 cm; Width of Yokote: 2.3 cm; Width at the base: 8.4 mm; Width of Yokote: 5.9 mm. Sheath length: 69 cm, Handle length. 24.8 cm
In this state probably very rare, probably above average specimen of a Kai Guntos.
According to age and purpose in very good condition.
