Work title: “Crocifissione”.
Artist: Umberto Milani (Milan, 1 December 1912 - Milan, 5 January 1969) - he exhibited at the Permanente society, at the Exposition universelle et internationale in Paris, at the XXXI Venice Biennial in 1962 with a personal room, and at the XXIX Venice Biennial with a room dedicated to him organised by Carlo Scarpa.
He was a sculptor and painter. A great sculptor in Milan in the years after the Second World War. His language was innovative and anticipated the avant-guarde currents of the 1950s. Milani studied in Brera where he came into contact also with Fontana, Melotti and Broggini. He immediately added painting and graphics to sculpture, techniques that he cultivated in parallel with plastic art.
