Tegel- en Fayencefabriek Amphora in Oegstgeest was operational from 1908-1933 and had Chris v.d. Hoef, Sam Schellink, Roelof Sterken and Theo Verstraaten as famous decorators.
It is no wonder that they partly continued the work of Plateelbakkerij Rozenburg in The Hague, of which they also bought moulds and semi-finished goods after their bankruptcy in 1914.
This pair of very rare vases (pendants with a stylised bird and plant design and provided with that gorgeous lustre glaze) show similarities with the Juliana decor of Rozenburg. They are 21 cm tall and have an 11.5 cm diameter. Made ca. 1910. In good, antique condition, only a non-disturbing small chip under the base ring (see the second before last photo).
Will be adequately packaged and shipped with registration and insurance. Pick-up is also possible after consultation.
