This in Folio Map is an original 1790 engraving on copper.
It is a very rare edition by F.J.J. VON REILLY, published in 1790 in order to disclose the Southern Italy section covered at the time by the post office, therefore the roads between Calabria and Sicily.
In fact, above you can read the writing: ‘DELINEATIO CURSUM VEREDARIORUM PER CALABRIAM ET SICILIAM’.
As mentioned, this map is very rare and has a very limited print run for the period in which it was engraved.
The information on the work behind the writing of this map is incomplete or otherwise unclear, but the rarity of it is certain given the very few copies of it that are around today and that have been around in the past.
Map published in Vienna in 1790, with excellent colouring, wide margins and geographically very detailed in all its parts.
Condition: the map is in good condition, as per photos. It shows small signs of ageing, which do not affect the engraved area at all.
