Very rare letter signed by Princess Violante Beatrice of Bavaria, wife of Ferdinando de' Medici and Governor of Siena.
The Princess writes to the Nobleman Carlo Uggeri, a member of the famous and powerful Brescian family, to compliment her third child's birth, communicating her pleasure that the Uggeri family has been blessed by the birth of three sons.
The letter is sent from Lappeggio (Villa Medicea di Lappeggi, on the hills adjacent to the city of Florence), residence of the Princess and Governor of Siena. The villa was assigned to her upon Ferdinando's death in 1713, and she lived there until her death in 1731.
The document is embellished by the beautiful black wax seal of Princess Violante, whose armorial fuses the Medici coat of arms with the six spheres and the coat of arms of the House of Wittelsbach.
The date is Lappeggio, May 27, 1719.
