A basin/large water stoup in Nembro Tabaccon marble, finely hand carved and decorated by a professional of the time.
Origin: Lake of Garda, Italy.
Unique for its half moon shape and for the particular heraldic coat of arms carved on the front. Currently it has no hole for water, but it’s possible to make it upon request without any problem or additional cost.
Probably in the past it was used as a food carrier, the iron residues and iron hinges that allowed a lid (probably iron) to be installed superiorly are still visible.
It may also be used as a holy water stoup as at the moment it does not have a hole.
Marble of important workmanship. The grain is extraordinary, as well as the patina, preserved over time. This medium/large-sized item is perfect for its original use and, thanks to its reasonable dimensions, it can be placed very easily. It is quite heavy, though.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor decor.
This lot is one of a kind, of excellent quality. Fine and elegant.
