Toyohara Chikanobu (豊 原 周延) (1838–1912), better known to his contemporaries as Yōshū Chikanobu (楊 洲 周延), was a productive woodblock print artist from the Japanese Meiji period.
In the past years art lovers and historians became aware of the immense cultural impact of his prints. Only recently he became one of the most-collected woodblock print artists of Japan, together with artists like Hokusai and Hasui Kawase.

Good condition - traces of creasing - restored worm holes at the bottom.
The cockscomb has colour/paper restoration - see pictures 12 & 13 !!
