This medal was instituted by King George V in 1866 for bravery during the fights from the Hannoverian troops against their Prussian opponents.
This 'seven weeks war' between Prussia and Austria ended in 1866 (with the annexation of the kingdom of Hannover).
The frontside shows the portrait of George 5th. of Hannover with the text 'Georg-V-v.G.G.-Koenig-v-Hannover'and signed 'with the artists name Jauner".
The backside shows the text 'Langensalza-27-Juni-1866', refering to this last battle.
The side shows the (receivers) name H. Eggers.

The condition is very good (with good remains of the gilding).
