Wonderful Alpina from the 1950s with a case which looks large when worn and a dial which has discoloured beautifully.
This vintage men's wristwatch by the Swiss top brand Alpina is in neat condition for its age. The case measures 41 mm from lug to lug x 34 mm without the crown.
The dial has discoloured magnificently and evenly over the past 65 years. The hour markers are overlaid and have a beautiful elongated shape. In addition, the dial features a sub-second hand and Dauphine-style hands. The tritium in the hands and on the hour markers has discoloured beautifully over the years. All these details give the watch a very chic and unique appearance.
The hatched case back has signs of wear and features the numbers 5 and 597108. Behind the lid, the beautifully designed Alpina 592 movement ticks, developed by Alpina itself. The movement runs well and winds smoothly. The time adjustment also works properly. Ready to be enjoyed for years to come!
The Alpina is fitted with a universal brown strap suited up to 20 cm, which matches perfectly.
Alpina is a Swiss top brand, comparable with brands like Omega, Longines and Zenith. Will be packaged with care and shipped by insured post.
Besides being a wonderful jewel, this Alpina is also an investment which will retain its value.
