The Benrus brand was very popular in the USA at the time, with movements from Switzerland and the cases/dials from the U.S.
Remarkable convex cushion glass in perfect condition.
This Benrus from the 1940s has a square model case, with bold lugs.
The case is plated with 10 kt. does not yet exhibit visible spots of wear in the old-fashioned, thick gold layer!
The dimensions are:
Width: 26 mm (without the crown)
From point/point: 36.4 mm
DIal in silk champagne with applied gold numerals/markers and gold hands. With, of course, some spots/stains, which are not too intrusive.
Small second hand in sunken part.
Large crown that is easily wound (recently renewed).
The original Benrus movement has a BA-4 calibre with 17 jewels.
It is clean and oiled and keeps the time well.
It will not have the accuracy of a quartz watch, however.
It features a brown, never worn leather Hirschband strap of supple quality (suitable for wrists up to 19 cm).
A fine Benrus, originally a men's watch that nowadays fits great on a women's wrist as well.
