Sizeable handmade silver Cambodian betel box in the shape of a pair of birds.
Made with exceptionally beautiful details and richly tooled.
Made around the turn of the century in accordance with the traditional Khmer silver work method.
Each box is shaped by hand, and subsequently the relief is hammered on the metal by hand.
These boxes were traditionally used for storing Betel leaves, nuts, tobacco and/or ointments.
It is marked nicely and completely and marked with silver mark 999 which stands for 999/1000 silver (Pure silver) and a maker's mark.
It is a sizeable box, the measurements are 6.5 x 7.00 cm, the height is 6.5 cm.
The box is also heavy, with a weight of 74.00 grams.
The entire piece is very beautiful and pristine condition without dents or scratches.
The box is a striking and exceptionally decorative object due to its size and elaborate decoration.
