Extraordinary panel in lacquer, ivory, mother of pearl, return from the legume harvest kept covered in a container with fir leaves.
The figures are finely sculpted in bas-relief with very fine incisions on the garments to simulate the fabric embroidery, note the mother of pearl on the cap, the belt and the collar.
It seems like the character on the left is asking the other to be careful with the precious harvest. This is the moment which precedes the Setsubun ceremony. Signature by Kokusei
Good condition: light traces of age on the lacquer surface
