The antique, Victorian earrings are made of 250/1000 yellow gold and marked with Norm. This was the officially authorised hallmark for 250 gold in Austria and Bohemia at the turn of the century. Like tombac, it was often used for antique garnet jewellery.
The drop earrings have ear wires, which enable them to be put on from the front. The fronts of the earrings are adorned squares orientated on the corner, which are set with round faceted, blood-red antique rose cut Bohemian garnets.
Very good, cared-for condition. Professionally and carefully cleaned by a master goldsmith, can be worn immediately.
The gold grade of this lot is below the legal gold grade of some countries.
