A rare typewriter from 1924.
"A beautiful decorative piece”
The typewriter is in very good and working condition.
Mignon is a type of typewriter which was invented in 1903 by Friedrich von Hefner-Alteneck and was produced by the German company AEG between 1904 and 1934.
Instead of typing hammers, this typewriter was fitted with a letter roller (type cylinder), which was interchangeable.
With this model, there were 26 different letter rollers available, including two Cyrillic.
Each letter roller came with a display showing the various characters. This display was fixed under the pointer of the Mignon typewriter, using the left hand to place the pointer was above the desired character. A mechanical clutch turned the letter roller making sure the correct letter was shown above the paper. By operating a push-button with the right-hand this letter was then printed onto the paper. The second button was used to enter a space.
Very well packaged for registered shipment.
