The armchairs date back to 1968–1970, a period of transition between the Italian production of Gavina spa and the American one of Knoll. In fact, the label present on one of the two armchair bears both the marks from Knoll International and Gavina spa (KI.GA-spa).
The armchairs, practically never used, are in perfect condition and have only light and small superficial signs of wear (see photos).
The leather does not show deep lesions or cuts. The tension of the fabric is optimal. The frame, made of chromed steel, is glossy and shows no rust.
The details bear witness to the high quality of Knoll-Gavina production that distinguishes itself from successive copies.
It is enough to notice the ends of the tubes with their flat welded head that is chromed and perfectly glossy, the thickness of the leather and the finesse of the seams, the (chromed) hexagonal screws recessed in the tubular frame and the two holes in the lower beam for inserting the rubber pads (which are completely hidden).
Shipping is to be paid by the buyer and can be agreed upon after the close of auction.
