A beautiful walking stick of hawthorn, carved from one piece. It has a silver band and a silver end at the hook handle.
The silver mounting on the hook handle is beautiful and was first applied in 1900. The silver is marked with HP, lion (sterling silver), panther (London) and year letter E (1900). Supposedly made by the silversmith Henry Potter.
The silver band with Monogram WH was applied 5 years later in 1905 and has the year letter K, also in London, and also sterling silver. The maker is HT which stands for Hubert Tornhill. Last named maker is known for his silver sticks.
