1990 Château Notton , Margaux 3th wine of Château Brane-Cantenac
A great wine from the domain of Brane-Cantenac, Grand Cru Classé. This Cru is called a deep garnet red color. When rolling in the glass, fine aromas of coffee, mocha and black blueberries emerge. In the mouth a lot of presence and a nice balance. This wine is beautifully round, powerful and generous.
Chateau Notton is the second wine from the acclaimed domain Brane Cantenac. Henri Lurton has been the proud owner of the chateau for years and year after year guarantees a sublime quality for his wines. This chateau reflects the finesse and complexity of one of the largest in Margaux.
Vintage description 1990 Bordeaux :
An extraordinary vintage both in quality and quantity. The second hottest year of the century since 1947 and the sunniest since 1949. Most of the Chateaux harvested highly concentrated grapes. The high volume of grapes produced wines that lack acidity, nevertheless they have strong and mellow tannins. The best wines come from the vineyards planted in heavy soil (Saint-Estèphe and Saint-Emilion), and where the grapes were drastically selected to limit yields. On the whole, the wines from this vintage are brimming with charm and distinction. The white wines are spectacular, particularly the legendary wines of Haut-Brion and Laville Haut-Brion. The Sauternes from this vintage, harvested before the red wines, are truly historical. Powerful and complex, they are absolute masterpieces of concentration and richness.
