Swoboda (USA) - The company started producing jewellery in 1956 Swoboda only used precious and semi-precious stones and natural pearls in their jewellery.
Its founder is Edward Swoboda. An expert on precious stones, the designer loved to travel, often to places in South America to which Swoboda jewellery was imported. In 1957, Nathan 'Nate' Waxman joined the company as an intern, to become a partner in the early 1960s. Nathan is a key figure in the industry of expensive jewellery. Swoboda jewellery was produced until Waxman left in 1979.
About Swoboda marks - Up to 1966, jewellery was not marked, from then on decorations had the mark Swoboda or Swo. Inc. (When the decoration was rather small.)
