An excellent pair of vases, standing circa 43½cm tall and weighing a combined 7807g, of atypical baluster shape with elephant heads as ears, finely painted in polychrome enamels with figures of scholar and pupil in landscape. Decorated to the reverse with calligraphy that mentions the scene, artist and date BingWu year (1906).
Provenance: From the estate of a Brussels collector of Asian arts.
Condition: Excellent, no damages or repairs.
