NOVERDY & CHERPION
On offer a French 1930 art deco chandelier in nickel plated bronze or solid brass holding a beautiful shade in moulded-pressed glass by Noverdy, the glass factory of Jean Noverdy in Dijon France. The mounting was made by etablissements Cherpion. A large company in Laxou a neighbourhood of Nancy France. Most Cherpion pieces are unsigned. Sometimes like on the mounting of this chandelier we can see the monogram CN on bronze items.
The chandelier has a height and a diameter of 35 cm. It is in very good condition. One unimportant flake to the rim which won't notice with the lamp in place (see picture). I have replated and patinated the mounting and it comes newly wired. The chandelier holds a European E27 socket. For the US or Japan I will place an american standard one.
To buy a glass bowl without mounting or equiped with a cheap often post-war poor looking mount in thin pressed brass, or even with old ropes with dangerous old wiring inside, is easily done for a small price. But good original pendants with high quality mountings are hard to get by.
Safe packaging guaranteed : As specialized restorer of French art Deco lighting I sell my lamps online for a fraction of the prices art deco shops sell for. For over 20 years I ship my parcels worldwide with the precious items well protected and fully insured.
