The Rotterdam photographer Caspari de Geus has made portraits of hundreds of visual artists, actors, writers, choreographers over the past 40 years.
and musicians (including Lou Reed, Bono, Louis Armstrong, Gerry Mulligan, Jan Wolkers, Philip Glass, Oscar Peterson, Alberto Moravia, John Cage, Dennis Hopper, Coetzee and Grace Jones.)
He taught photography at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.
Boijmans Museum in Rotterdam, The Stedelijk Museum in Schiedam, the Literary Museum in The Hague and the Library of Congress in Washington have purchased work from him. The North Sea Festival has been displaying 80 details of his jazz photographs from a height of 4 m for ten years. His work is collected internationally.
