Swiss/Danish watch making.
Jules Jürgensen was born in Le Locle (Switzerland) on 27 July 1808. When Jürgensen was 15 months old, his parents returned to Denmark. In Copenhagen Jürgensen received training in his father's watch business. After the death of Urban Jürgensen he took over the manufacture with Louis Urban. In 1872, Jürgensen retired from the business and handed it over to his son Jules Frédéric Urban.

Interesting pocket watch in 18 kt (0.750) - hallmarked various times and with the name engraving Jules Jürgensen. Smooth casing. Gold inner lid. Retrograde monogram J.L.R almost unreadable.
Silver plated dial in excellent condition. Fine Arabic numerals. Small, recessed second at the six, blued hands - very fine. Signed Jules Jürgensen Copenhagen.
Dust cover (18kt) signed Jules Jürgensen Copenhagen&Switzerland Nr. 18089. Inscription of the Rotary Secretariat Baltimore.
Movement manufacture with typical structure from the workshop Jules Jürgensen. Also signed in the movement Jules Jürgensen Copenhagen no. 18089.

Watch diameter without crown: 44 mm, with crown: 58 mm. Weight: 54 g. Origin: circa 1920.
