A classic Netsuke of a standing figure. Here Sennin Gama holding upon his shoulder a huge toad which he cured and which accompanied him ever since.
He belongs to the Buddhist Immortals
Unsigned, around 1800
Hight 5,8 cm.
From an old collection of about 500 Netsuke, built up in the sixties and seventies of last c. in Japan.
Japanese Netsuke from the Edo period and therefore it was produced prior to 1947. In compliance with European Union regulations on ivory trade.
Good condition, beautiful patina by much wearing

The item comes with a certificate of authenticity which will be sent to the buyer.
