Rarely seen coloured etching by Frans Everbag.
The first one he made in or before 1918 of all his Amsterdam cityscapes.
The colour etching is signed in pencil on the bottom right ‘F. Everbag’.
On the bottom left, it says in pencil number 12.
The etching was tastefully framed at art dealer Reeker from Amsterdam, a reputable company.
Frans Everbag lived and worked in Amsterdam for nearly all his life.
His oeuvre consists therefore largely of Amsterdam city views.
In addition, he painted flower still lifes and animals in a sensitive-impressionist style.
Everbag also experimented with all kinds of printing techniques and he is counted among the most important engravers and lithographers of the first half of the 20th century.
He was, among other things, a member of "Arti et Amicitiae" in Amsterdam.
