This is a beautiful, rare, genuine Japanese antique. Over a 100 years old, from the early 20th Century or late 19th century ( corresponding to the Meiji Era 明治時代 1868-1912) This is a small laquered wood and gold gilt, Amida Nyorai Buddha.
Originally part of an old Japanese family shrine, from a old rural estate auction, imported directly from Japan by me.
The Buddha has faded ritual blue colour hair, and a floral manora symbolizing his radiant aura. His hands in Gyan Mudra in his lap. He sits on a plinth mounted lotus throne, all originally gold gilded.
A wonderful statue for the collector, altar, or an impressive interior design statement.
