Beautiful detailed Edo period Buddhist home altar with Double Buddha and Odaimoku tower.

A lacquered wood Buddhist home altar (butsudan) with gilt-wood interior. The altar is very old and detailed. It is in very good condition for its age, as depicted. Shows signs of aging. Very complete with original casing and lock.
50 cm wide (open), 24,5 cm wide (closed), 37 cm high, depth 19 cm.
In the center is the Odaimoku tower inscribing “Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō”. The words Myōhō Renge Kyō refers to the Japanese title of the Lotus Sūtra.
An exceptional collectors item and hard to come by especially of this size/quality.
