Antique polychrome wooden column, late 17th, early 18th century, based on classic example (Corinthian pillar).
The column of 85 cm high is partly gilded and shows remnants of the old polychromy. The lower, front part of the column is decorated with a winged cupid, the sides with floral motifs/patterns.
The lower part of the back has a part that is not decorated, which is where the column used to be attached.
The bottom or base on which the column stands is from a later date and is an adjustment to turn the column into a lamp. If desired, this adjustment is easy to reverse.
Condition: this column is in used, original condition. The upper part shows some traces of wear and tear, which is normal for a column or a wooden object of circa 300-400 years old. All weathering and wear and tear is related to age and use. Please see photos for the overall condition.
