Antique Japanese tanto "constructie (pantser piercer) in shirasaya, made for stabbing the samurai armour (Yoroi). The blade was forged by one of the swordsmiths Kunitsugu in Muromachi period 1333-1573 and signed " Kunitsugu ". The blade has good old polish and has fine scratches and " kitae kizu "( geen hagire), "itame hada" , "suguha " hamon with deep temper in the point, "ubo nakago" (not shortened). There are Length nagasa ( cutting edge) : 22,6 cm,"motogasane" : 6 mm, "motohaba" : 1,8 cm, total length in shirasaya: 39cm. Insured shipping (Russia and China are exempted).

We have tried to verify the signature as good as possible, the signature on the sword is not verified because there is no NBTHK or NTHK origami (certification paper) present with the sword.
To be reasonably sure about the maker of a specific sword, you have to apply the sword for shinsa (inspection) at one of the most important Japanese sword study groups (NBTHK or NTHK). These organisations will judge the sword and draw up documents (origami) describing the authenticity and/or historic value of the sword.
