The very well preserved dial with applied indices has no patina. In a few places there is low abrasion and small defects. The dial is originally preserved with text "ELGIN". In the centre there are hand-painted Masonic symbols. The clock runs unusually well and reliably, with a very high amplitude.
The casing is in a very good condition, when you consider its age. The gold plating has slight defects only between the horns below. All parts of the watch (except for the strap) are original "ELGIN" from the USA. The base made of gold/steel has only slight signs of wear. The hands are blued and without heavy patina. The thick watch glass is very well preserved, but probably not original Elgin. The original crown has some abrasion on the cap, but still has grip and is smooth.
