Original 1957 screen print on thick black paper, handsigned and numbered 80/100 by Vasarely, also bearing the blind stamp of the Guilde Internationale de la Sérigraphie.

Condition very good.
Victor Vasarely (1906-1997) was a Hungarian-French artist, who is widely accepted as the grandfather and leader of the Op art movement. A great Vasarely exhibition has just taken place in Paris at the Centre Pompidou.
As for the blind stamp: the Guilde International de la Sérigraphie was a prestigious workshop in Lausanne, Switzerland, founded by renowned gallery owner Georges Kasper. Some of the greatest artists of the era worked there, among them Lucio Fontana, Sonia Delaunay and Victor Vasarely.
