1930/40s three part porthole of 37cm diameter and 9cm in depth, steel backing and brass/bronze swing plates and port light in a beautiful "redish" alloy, original double cast-glass, cast iron deadlight and brass/bronze dogs( Screw rings to lock and fasten swing plate to racking plate.
Rescued from a scrapping ship in the 60’s and stored until last year in a private warehouse. It was stripped from paint last year and just primary polishing of metals was applied.
Further cleaning and polishing may bring out an outstanding, soon antique porthole.
I leave it as is for those who may like patinas and age remembrances.
The original glass shows some minor dents but not cracks whatsoever, due to its massive consistance.
