Made by the company V. Kempen.
Provided with the various Dutch silver hallmarks.
Also has French hallmarks / marks.
The parts have also been separately hallmarked /marked.
The lid has the Dutch sword among other things.
They are all marked with the “old” tax stamp.
This trophy is “mountable”.
The "connection screw / bolt" ; that secures the base with the trophy is made of solid silver.
This trophy has a French inscription.
It says that the company “Peynenburg”, won the first prize at an international bread and banquet baker’s competition. This was organised in Paris.
It is probably the case that this cup was commissioned and then made by Van Kempen; for this “championship”. Won by the famous Dutch "Ontbijtkoekfabrikant" (breakfast cake manufacturer) Peynenburg .
That is how this “trophy” came back to the Netherlands.
This company has a long history and still exists in its full glory.
The ornaments and the figure on the lid; hero of France (Marie...). depict the great French character well.
In 1925 Peynenburg won this international competition.
