At auction a museum lamp marked Manifattura Ginori a Doccia, vicino Florence, a mark used exclusively between 1860 and 1890.
The lamp in perfect aesthetic condition and with an intact mechanism, it represents to all intents and purposes an excellence in the production of the period.
It underwent no attempt at tampering or electrification over the years.
It comes from a private collection (Neapolitan nobleman) and it could be exhibited in a museum in all respects, due to the importance of the piece. The figure portrayed is likely to be a young Margherita of Savoy, Queen of Italy and wife of Umberto I, during the period of validity of the brand of the lamp on sale.
The dimensions with ampoule are of 36 cm in height. Lamp only: 25.5 cm.
