The Struve Geodetic Arc is a grade measurement, which consists of an almost 3,000 km long network of geodetic measurement points. It was established from 1816 to 1855 and was one of the most precise and largest former
measurement projects . It was the first technical, scientific object added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.
