Pair of hand-forged gold-plated Neo Romanesque altar crown church candlesticks - France (Paris) - 18th century
Altarpieces - in good condition with beautiful patina - gold-plated - marked with maker’s mark

Impressive candlesticks, richly decorated with multiple motifs.
In the centre rests a nodi and the foot has eagle’s claws on each side. Central to each side, two large winged figures fighting with each other. The head is a pillar carried by sepals.
Over the years, it has developed a beautiful character/age patina.
Goldsmith work, with remnants of gilding.
Beautifully decorated all around, hammered and engraved. The candlestick has light gilding, the gold and patina are slightly worn, but consistent with age.
In good condition, no missing parts.
Marked at the top with a maker’s mark (L.F.)

This candlestick is of high quality with many details.
